Pear tree blossom in the Mostviertel region
200 kilometres of cider road, 300,000 pear trees
It’s finally time again in mid to late April – the Mostviertler Moststraße is cloaked in white blossom. For a fortnight, millions of fruit trees shine in a sea of white blossom. Fragrant white blossoms wherever you look, what a sight!
The pear tree blossom merges seamlessly into the apple blossom. This means that the Mostviertel landscape will continue to blossom in pale pink for a few more days.
With the pear tree webcam, you are always up to date on the development of the blossom and, later on, the growth of the fruit! The pears are then harvested in autumn.

The best way to enjoy the white blossom landscape is on a leisurely hiking tour. Various cider taverns are located directly on the route of some hiking tours.
Or would you prefer to go on two wheels? Then get on your bike! Many cycle tours lead along the blossoming Moststraße. We recommend the 54-kilometre-long Mostbaron cycle tour. It starts and ends in Ardagger Stift and leads around Amstetten. On the way you pass the MostBirnHaus of Ardagger Abbey, the cider villages of Stephanshart, Neuhofen, Zeillern and Euratsfeld.
For refreshments, of course, there are cider taverns along the way. Especially in spring, the cider taverns invite you to enjoy a tasty snack. We recommend that you always book in advance with the respective wine tavern.
There are also several rest and picnic areas along the way. Here you can often enjoy the snacks you have brought with you with a wonderful view. Various producers offer picnic baskets with regional delicacies to take away.
Numerous events take place along the cider route throughout the cider spring. From cider tastings to early morning cider pubs and cider kirks to hikes. Every year on the last Sunday in April, Cider Day is celebrated, the highlight of the cider spring.
