Zwettl-Roiten Water Wonders hiking trail

The trail is 12.16 km long, altitude: 110 metres, duration approx. 3.5 hours

Photographer Günter Schön shows photographs and water vibration photographs with a regional reference on 13 themed panels. The starting point of the hike is the picturesque main square of Schön’s hometown of Zwettl, which features a fountain designed by Friedensreich Hundertwasser. The destination is the village museum in Roiten, where environmental artist Hundertwasser lived for years in the old Hahnsäge and practised his closeness to nature in the simplest possible way.

Zwettl – Our two rivers

The trail is 13.83 km long, altitude: 195 metres, duration approx. 3.5 hours

This tour leads through the Zwettltal to Syrafeld, crossing the Moidramswald. The tour then follows the Kamp from the Gschwendtmühle back to Zwettl.

The trail is 9.18 km long, elevation gain: 193 metres, duration approx. 2.5 hours

On 17 February 2000 it was decided in a ceremonial act to designate Zwettl as a brewing town. The Zwettl Beer Trail now connects many places that are important for the brewery and its production.

The KULTURZWICKL association is closely linked to the brewing town of Zwettl and stands for unfiltered cultural enjoyment – furthermore, it is intended to represent an additional “Zwickel” in the Zwettl cultural scene. Kamp-Thaya-March-Route (KTM-Route)

The route is approx. 423 km long, altitude: 2,549 metres

The top cycle route from Krems an der Donau to Stopfenreuth. This attractive and highly recommended cycle route follows a total of three rivers and crosses the Waldviertel and Weinviertel regions to the Czech border. Peace, tranquillity and idyllic scenery as well as several catering establishments make this tour an experience.

Hundertwasser tour

The trail is approx. 31.4 km long, altitude: 353 metres, duration approx. 2.5 hours

This mountain bike tour is a little more challenging. Start in Zwettl and cycle via Gschwendtmühle to Roiten and on to Frankenreith. From Großgöttfritz you then cycle via Rohrenreith to Ratschenhof and back to Zwettl.

Two Rivers Tour

The trail is approx. 13.4 km long, altitude: 165 metres, duration approx. 1.5 hours

The mountain bike tour starts in Zwettl and leads via the Gschwendtmühle and Syrafeld back to Zwettl.

Zwettl cycle path 3

The route is approx. 25 km long, altitude: 500 metres, duration approx. 1.5 hours

The Zwettl cycle paths each start at Dreifaltigkeitsplatz in the centre of Zwettl. From there, you cycle via Moidrams and Waldhams to Jahrings and then on to Kleinmeinharts. You then continue to Schwarzteich and Niederneustift until you reach Rosenau Castle, where you continue to Negers. Finally, you cycle from Schickendorf via Demutsgraben back to Zwettl.

The trail is approx. 28 km long, elevation gain: 410 metres, duration approx. 1.5 hours

You start again at Dreifaltigkeitsplatz in the centre of Zwettl. Then you cycle via Oberhof and Raschenhof towards Rudmannser Teich and on to Kleehof and Friedersbach. From Mitterreith, the route continues to the reservoir and Edelhof, from where you reach Zwettl Abbey. Finally, the cycle path leads to Neumühle and via Traunerhäusel and Oberhof back to Zwettl.
